Une \u00e2me douce, fra\u00eechement retrait\u00e9e, quelqu'un dont la vie a \u00e9t\u00e9 pleine de sens et de contribution. Maintenant qu'il dispose enfin d'un espace - un espace r\u00e9el et d\u00e9gag\u00e9 - pour se tourner vers les projets dont il a toujours r\u00eav\u00e9, on pourrait penser qu'il se l\u00e8verait du lit avec enthousiasme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais ce n'est pas ce qui se passe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La plupart des matins, Jean-Pierre s'attarde sous la couette bien plus longtemps qu'il ne le voudrait. Il attrape son t\u00e9l\u00e9phone, fait d\u00e9filer les nouvelles, lit un article, puis un autre. La lumi\u00e8re du matin change, le temps s'adoucit. Il se dit qu'il \u201centame la journ\u00e9e en douceur\u201d, mais midi arrive avant qu'il n'ait touch\u00e9 au travail qui lui tient \u00e0 c\u0153ur. En fin d'apr\u00e8s-midi, il ressent cette douleur silencieuse - non pas de la paresse, mais de la d\u00e9ception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jean-Pierre n'est pas un homme qui manque de discipline ou de motivation. Il n'est pas paresseux, et vous non plus. Il se heurte simplement \u00e0 quelque chose de plus profond, de plus ancien, de plus universel. Quelque chose que je reconnais chez beaucoup d'entre nous - et, si je suis honn\u00eate, chez moi aussi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C'est de la procrastination. Et \u00e7a fait mal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La v\u00e9ritable douleur de la procrastination<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Parlons franchement, car la procrastination s'accompagne toujours d'une souffrance tr\u00e8s particuli\u00e8re :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>L'autotrahison (\u201cJe m'\u00e9tais promis que ce jour serait diff\u00e9rent\u201d).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La culpabilit\u00e9 (\u201cJ'ai tellement de choses \u00e0 faire, pourquoi ne le fais-je pas ?\u201d)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La honte (\u201cQu'est-ce qui ne va pas chez moi ? Les autres semblent s'en sortir.\u201d)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>L'anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 (\u201cPlus je l'\u00e9vite, plus elle augmente\u201d).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Et l'\u00e9rosion tranquille de la confiance en soi.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Vous connaissez cette douleur. La plupart d'entre nous la connaissent. Cela n'a aucun sens.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>En fait, c'est tout \u00e0 fait logique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ce qu'est la procrastination&nbsp;<em>Vraiment&nbsp;<\/em>Est&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>1. Votre cerveau est un \"Scrooge\" de l'\u00e9nergie, car sa premi\u00e8re t\u00e2che est de vous maintenir en vie.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il ne s'agit pas d'une m\u00e9taphore ; vous l'avez devin\u00e9 : il s'agit de neurosciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le cerveau ne repr\u00e9sente qu'environ 2% de votre poids corporel, mais consomme&nbsp;<strong>20-25% de votre \u00e9nergie totale<\/strong>, m\u00eame lorsque vous \u00eates assis sans bouger. Du point de vue de l'\u00e9volution, c'\u00e9tait extr\u00eamement co\u00fbteux. Le cerveau a donc d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une brillante strat\u00e9gie de survie :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conservez de l'\u00e9nergie pour tout ce qui pourrait \u00eatre n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 votre survie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La conservation de l'\u00e9nergie se fait par le biais des habitudes. Les habitudes ne n\u00e9cessitent pratiquement pas de carburant m\u00e9tabolique. Elles contournent le cortex pr\u00e9frontal, lent et laborieux, et se glissent dans les circuits automatiques des ganglions de la base. Pour votre cerveau, le familier est synonyme de plaisir. Non pas parce qu'il fait du bien - bien que ce soit parfois le cas - mais parce qu'il est facile, automatique et confortablement pr\u00e9visible. Essayer quelque chose de nouveau - m\u00eame si c'est minime, m\u00eame si c'est bon pour vous - demande plus d'\u00e9nergie. Le cerveau y r\u00e9siste comme on r\u00e9siste \u00e0 sauter dans un lac froid. Il n'y a rien de mal dans le lac. C'est juste que vous ne voulez pas du choc.<br><br>Votre cerveau combat la nouveaut\u00e9, non pas parce que vous \u00eates faible, mais parce qu'il fait son travail : il vous prot\u00e8ge, plut\u00f4t s\u00e9rieusement, comme un garde du corps un peu d\u00e9pass\u00e9 mais bien intentionn\u00e9.<br><br>Donc : vous n'\u00eates pas bris\u00e9 ! Il n'y a rien qui cloche chez vous. Vous \u00eates un \u00eatre humain, dot\u00e9 d'un cerveau d\u00e9licatement programm\u00e9 pour pr\u00e9f\u00e9rer ce qui est familier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. La procrastination consiste \u00e9galement \u00e0 \u00e9viter la douleur.<\/strong><br><br>Nous remettons les choses \u00e0 plus tard parce que les t\u00e2ches suscitent souvent des r\u00e9actions int\u00e9rieures difficiles, telles que<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>La peur du succ\u00e8s (oui, c'est vrai).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peur de l'exposition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La peur de ne pas \u00eatre \u00e0 la hauteur.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accablement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le perfectionnisme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confusion quant \u00e0 l'endroit o\u00f9 commencer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ou simplement : \u201cC'est d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able et je ne veux pas\u201d.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Le syst\u00e8me douleur\/plaisir du cerveau est ancien et extr\u00eamement primitif. Son mandat est simple :<br><br>\u00c9viter l'inconfort. Rechercher le confort par l'habitude. Nous remettons \u00e0 plus tard parce que le changement est inconfortable - jusqu'\u00e0 ce qu'il devienne insupportable.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il s'agit de l'aspect \u00e9motionnel silencieux.<br>Nous restons dans le mauvais emploi, la mauvaise ville, les mauvaises habitudes, la mauvaise relation - longtemps apr\u00e8s avoir fait le bon choix - parce que l'habitude est s\u00e9curisante. R\u00e9duire la r\u00e9sistance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Votre cerveau r\u00e9siste parce qu'il anticipe l'inconfort. Nous commen\u00e7ons donc en douceur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous faisons en sorte que le d\u00e9but soit le plus petit, le plus facile, le plus l\u00e9ger et le plus indolore possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Une liste de t\u00e2ches (au lieu d'une liste de choses \u00e0 faire)<\/strong><br>Une liste de choses \u00e0 faire ressemble souvent \u00e0 un jugement.<br>Une liste Ta-Da c\u00e9l\u00e8bre chaque petit pas - avec de la dopamine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c9crivez ce que vous&nbsp;<em>a fait<\/em>, et non ce que vous&nbsp;<em>devrait faire<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ouvrir l'ordinateur portable -&nbsp;<em>Ta-da !<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R\u00e9digez une phrase -&nbsp;<em>Ta-da !<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Se promener -&nbsp;<em>Ta-da !<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>De minuscules bouff\u00e9es de dopamine entra\u00eenent le cerveau \u00e0 associer l'action au plaisir plut\u00f4t qu'\u00e0 la peur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Micro-d\u00e9marrages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si la t\u00e2che vous semble \u00e9crasante, d\u00e9composez-la jusqu'\u00e0 ce qu'elle ne vous paraisse plus mena\u00e7ante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pas \u201c\u00e9crire le chapitre\u201d. Juste \u201couvrir le document\u201d.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pas \u201ccr\u00e9er mon entreprise\u201d, mais \u201cenvoyer un courriel\u201d.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pas \u201cd\u00e9sencombrer le garage\u201d. Juste \u201couvrir la porte\u201d.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Une fois que vous avez commenc\u00e9, la r\u00e9sistance s'att\u00e9nue. L'\u00e9lan est essentiel. Une fois que vous avez commenc\u00e9, votre cerveau se d\u00e9tend et l'action engendre l'action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Une conception facilit\u00e9e<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mets tes chaussures pr\u00e8s du lit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mettez en place le projet la veille.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mettez votre t\u00e9l\u00e9phone dans une autre pi\u00e8ce.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous ne sommes pas faibles : nous sommes humains. Le design l'emporte toujours sur la volont\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Avancer vers quelque chose d'important<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La r\u00e9duction de la r\u00e9sistance ne suffit pas. Nous avons \u00e9galement besoin de quelque chose qui&nbsp;<em>tirettes<\/em>&nbsp;nous faire avancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>L'exercice de \u201cclart\u00e9 sur le lit de mort<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il m'arrive de poser la question \u00e0 mes clients :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201c\u00c0 la fin de votre vie, que regretteriez-vous de ne pas avoir fait ?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette question modifie rapidement les priorit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soudain, l'\u00e9criture a de l'importance.<br>La conversation est importante.<br>La sant\u00e9 est importante.<br>La cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 est importante.<br>Le courage est important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>L'identit\u00e9 l'emporte sur la motivation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au lieu de \u201cJ'ai besoin d'\u00e9crire,\u201d<br>essayer :&nbsp;<em>\u201cJe suis quelqu'un qui \u00e9crit.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au lieu de \u201cJe devrais faire de l'exercice\u201d.\u201d<br>essayer :&nbsp;<em>\u201cJe suis quelqu'un qui prend soin de son corps.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous nous \u00e9levons au niveau de ce que nous croyons \u00eatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Partenaire de votre futur moi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imaginez le futur que vous murmurez :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cMerci d'avoir fait ce qui \u00e9tait inconfortable pour que je puisse vivre cette vie.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette voix peut d\u00e9placer des montagnes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La mise en place de l'ensemble<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au fil du temps, quelque chose de r\u00e9el commence \u00e0 changer.<br>La procrastination ne dispara\u00eet pas dans un \u00e9lan de motivation ; elle s'adoucit comme les saisons changent - progressivement, puis presque d'un seul coup. On fait un petit pas, puis un autre, et ces petits pas cr\u00e9ent un rythme. L'action devient moins angoissante, plus possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et gardez ceci \u00e0 l'esprit : il n'y a rien qui cloche chez vous. Vous ne manquez pas de volont\u00e9. Vous travaillez simplement avec un cerveau qui aime le familier et un c\u0153ur qui a soif de sens. Ces deux parties de votre \u00eatre sont parfois tiraill\u00e9es dans des directions diff\u00e9rentes, mais elles sont toutes deux de votre c\u00f4t\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La procrastination n'est pas un d\u00e9faut de caract\u00e8re. C'est simplement l'espace entre la vie que vous menez actuellement et la vie qui tente d'\u00e9merger.
